The Santiago Chile Temple was the first Mormon temple to be built on Spanish-speaking soil and the second to be built in South America. The temple serves roughly 540,000 Latter-day Saints in the vicinity.Since its initial construction, there have been additions to the temple property including housing for patrons who come from the far reaches of Chile to stay in while they attend the temple.
And, something new for me to worry about:
SANTIAGO - CHILE, among the South American countries hardest hit by the swine flu, confirmed two new deaths from the virus, bringing the country's death toll from the outbreak to seven.
